Il nostro First Aid ogni 15 giorni visita e fa analisi a tutti i sierraleoncini ed altri 50 circa della zona povera del villaggio di Goderich.

Costantemente teniamo monitorati tutti i sierraleoncini.

Siamo gli unici a fare prevenzione in Sierra Leone. Solo noi ed Emergency curiamo gratuitamente i bambini.

Ieri abbiamo visitato e fatto test malaria e tifo a 160 bambini: 44 di loro avevano contratto la malaria e 39 il tifo. Un bambino è risultato positivo a entrambe.

Ecco le conseguenze della stagione delle piogge.

I bambini sono stati tutti curati nel nostro First Aid Centre.

Ecco cosa ci scrive oggi Ira Johnson dello staff dei Jeneba’s Mates:

Close to 160 kids were tested for Malaria and Thyphoid. Out of this 44 were positive with malaria and 39 with thyphoid. In this case one kid was positive with both malaria and thyphoid. The reason for the high number of positive cases in malaria could be attributed to the beginning of the raining season. There are a lot of stagnant waters in drainages around the village. This may have created breeding grounds for mosquitoes. Thyphoid may be caused by drinking conterminated water, eg rain water or well water.
